Lilium 'OT-Hybrid Tower Lilies Lavon' combines the best of the Oriental Hybrid Lily with the Aurelian/Trumpet Lily. A stunning addition to your perennial garden, the Lavon's thick, waxy petals open a delicate pale yellow and gradually fade to ivory with a rusty-red star adorning each centre. This is a vigorous lily with a sweet and complex fragrance and, like all OT hybrids, very long lasting flowers. While this hybrid benefits from the fantastic visual traits of its parents, it has also inherited great heat, cold, drought and disease resistance making for a truly hardy plant that you can enjoy in your garden for many years.
Known to take on a shrub like appearance with deep green foliage, these bulbs can grow up to 200cm tall within the first two years with each bulb capable of producing upwards of thirty blooms, each 20cm wide.
These lilies are perfect among sunny borders, along fences or walls, or in large containers on a patio or terrace. We recommend planting these bulbs at a depth of around 15cm deep and at least 20cm apart. If possible, try to find a sheltered, sunny spot where they will be free to grow with their heads in the sun and their roots in the shade. These flowers are long lasting and drought resistant once established and will naturalise brilliantly. Orienpet lilies such as the Lavon tend to bloom slightly earlier than Orientals, typically between July and August.
