Lilium 'Oriental White' is a beautiful perennial with pristine and elegant, gently curving white flowers that look wonderful in the summer border, but can also be cut for the vase. Oriental Lilies are cherished universally for their sweet fragrance and stunning, delicate displays and the 'Oriental White' is a prime example of such qualities.
These heavenly white lilies are also a wonderful container plant and are very easy to grow. Choose a position of sun or partial shade, ideally where the plant receives some light shade at its base, and plant each bulb 15cm deep and 20-30cm apart in well-drained soil, enriched with rotted organic matter or leaf mould. Aim to plant the bulbs sometime in spring in time for their summer bloom between June and August.
When fully grown these lilies can reach 90cm tall and may spread up to 40cm. When planting in pots make sure to use a good-quality, multi-purpose compost such as John Innes No.3.
