The Hosta 'Sugar Daddy' grows up to 50cm tall, producing large, rounded, textured blue-green leaves with a pale yellow margin.
Beyond the main attraction of thick deciduous foliage, this Hosta will produce loose clusters of tubular white flowers from June to July. Easy to grow and maintain, they can reach heights of around 50cm with a spread of up to 90cm.
Grown in-house at Gates Garden Centre, 'Sugar Daddy' Hostas are sold in 3 litre pots and are best planted in a shaded garden, mixed with other perennials in beds and borders. They also excel as groundcover or when used to underplant shrubs or roses. They can be used in both city and informal cottage gardens and can also be planted in containers.
Plant in a shady spot, in fertile, moist and well drained soil that does not dry out. Mulch annually in spring and water during dry spells. Protect from slugs and snails and propagate by division in early spring or late summer.
