Lonicera Periclymenum 'Scentsation' is a vigorous, deciduous honeysuckle vine that grows masses of exceptionally fragrant, creamy-white to yellow flowers. Blooming in succession from July to September, these flowers give way to small, bright red berries that offer plenty of late summer interest as well as food for birds. The foliage consists of abundant, oval, dark green leaves.
This non-invasive honeysuckle is easy to grow and can potentially reach a height of up to 7 or 8 metres. It is, therefore, an excellent choice for covering walls, fences, trellises, pergolas or trees and is guaranteed to be a wonderful addition to any summer garden.
Generally low maintenance, it tends to be pest and disease free but keep an eye out for any aphids or thrips. It can adapt to a wide range of soils, including dry or clay soil, but it prefers moist, loamy, well drained soil.
This hardy Lonicera is best in partial shade however it can tolerate full sun. The fragrance is strongest in the evening so consider a spot near a house window where the delightful aroma can drift in on a summer evening.
