An early flowering and hard-working hellebore, the ‘HGC Ice N’ Roses Ivory Blush’ from the Helleborus Gold Collection (HGC), adds interest and sparkling white hues to the garden from November, repeat flowering almost continuously through to spring.
In addition to its wonderful floral display, this hellebore has dark green glossy foliage that accentuates and frames the flowers perfectly. It also has sturdy upright stems which mean it holds it shape well and keeps the blooms upright, so it stays looking its best for longer. Its vibrant lemon-yellow stamen adds an eye-catching pop of colour that not only looks beautiful but is a great way to attract a range of pollinators into your garden.
The Helleborus Gold Collection (HGC) is widely recognised as the best and most widely tested range of hellebores in the world. So, you have peace of mind that you will enjoy the beauty of these winter flowering blooms for many years to come. The Ice N' Roses series from the HGC combines the Snow Rose, Christmas Rose and the Lenton Rose to create highly floriferous, robust and reliable hellebores that thrive even in sunny areas of the garden and hold their perfectly formed blooms throughout its long flowering season.
This versatile hellebore is a wonderful addition to any winter garden, grown in beds and borders as well as pots and containers. Try growing it alongside Fescue, a slow-growing grass that adds a beautiful contrasting texture to displays, or Eastern Teaberry for its festive red berries. Or for garden displays full of colour, couple it with Winter Aconites or Crocuses.
To get the best display of Hellebore blooms, dig a hole at least double the size of the root ball. Immerse the potted root ball in a bucket of water before planting and wait for the bubbles to stop rising to the surface. Then loosen the soil around the hole and position the Hellebore, lightly covering it with soil. Once planted create a small circular ridge in the soil around the blooms to aid water retention. Ensure that your Hellebore doesn’t dry out, but don’t over water it either. You will then enjoy this floral delight, that returns year after year and lasts for decades.
