Like a fine wine, the claret-coloured blooms on this ‘Ice N Roses Bennotta’ hellebore will get better with age, as they retain their colour throughout its flowering season and return year after year, getting increasingly beautiful as it matures.
The Helleborus Gold Collection (HBC) is widely recognised as the best and most widely tested range of hellebores in the world. So, you have peace of mind that you will enjoy the beauty of these winter flowering blooms for many years to come. The Ice N' Roses series from the HGC combines the Snow Rose, Christmas Rose and the Lenton Rose to create early flowering, highly floriferous, robust and reliable hellebores that thrive in sunny areas of the garden and hold their depth of colour through its long flowering season.
Adding to the appeal of this hellebore are its golden yellow stamen, that draw the eye in to admire its abundance of beautiful blooms, and glossy green healthy foliage that frames the flowers perfectly. The ‘HGC Ice N’ Roses Bennotta’ looks wonderful planted as a single specimen in pots and containers, to elevate the appeal of entrances and patio areas with its striking flowers. Or combined with grasses and other textured plants, such as Calluna or Tiarella, it creates a truly mesmerising display. For a colour-filled winter garden try combining it with an early flowering Narcissus variety or Muscari.
To get the best display of Hellebore blooms, dig a hole at least double the size of the root ball. Immerse the potted root ball in a bucket of water before planting and wait for the bubbles to stop rising to the surface. Then loosen the soil around the hole and position the Hellebore, lightly covering it with soil. Once planted create a small circular ridge in the soil around the blooms to aid water retention. Ensure that your Hellebore doesn’t dry out, but don’t over water it either. You will then enjoy this floral delight, that returns year after year and lasts for decades.
