The Helleborus ‘HGC Ice Breaker Ruby’ Snow Rose is from the premium Helleborus Gold Collection (HGC) and has masses of jewel-coloured magenta-red blooms with golden stamen, to create an opulent feel in your winter garden.

In addition to its dazzling flowers, this hellebore has an abundance of dark green foliage which is subtly marbled. The ‘HGC Ice breaker Ruby’ is a versatile bloom to grow in a variety of position around the garden. Its Mediterranean parentage means that it thrives in the full sun of summer as much as it does the cold frost and snow in the middle of winter. It is a wonderful choice for adding colourful ground cover to beds and borders or it can be used to create appealing entrances and patio areas, grown in pots and containers. To get the best display of Hellebore blooms, dig a hole at least double the size of the root ball. Immerse the potted root ball in a bucket of water before planting and wait for the bubbles to stop rising to the surface. Then loosen the soil around the hole and position the Hellebore, lightly covering it with soil. Once planted create a small circular ridge in the soil around the blooms to aid water retention. Ensure that your Hellebore doesn’t dry out, but don’t over water it either. You will then enjoy this floral delight, that returns year after year and lasts for decades.
