Helleborus ‘HGC Merlin’ Snow Rose (2-Litre Pot)

The Helleborus ‘HGC Merlin’ is a magnificent variety of Snow Rose from the premium Helleborus Gold Collection (HGC). With its wonderful vintage pink petals and sunny yellow stamen, it adds colour and interest to winter garden displays.

In addition to its beautiful blooms, the ‘Merlin’ Snow Rose has delightful dark green foliage with a subtle marbled effect, which frames and accentuates the flowers. The leaves also act as a foil for other blooms during the summer months when the Hellebore isn’t in flower.

This delightful bloom is fully hardy and well suited to the UK climate. It copes well with frost and snow and will reliably repeat flower throughout the winter and into spring.

Perfect for planting in a range of positions around the garden, this variety thrives in partially shaded areas, as well as full sun to make it a versatile choice. Add it to borders, pots or containers mixed with other plants such as Skimmia and Ivy, or let it take centre stage and elevate the appeal of front gardens, entrances and terraces.

To get the best display of Hellebore blooms, dig a hole at least double the size of the root ball. Immerse the potted root ball in a bucket of water before planting and wait for the bubbles to stop rising to the surface. Then loosen the soil around the hole and position the Hellebore, lightly covering it with soil. Once planted create a small circular ridge in the soil around the blooms to aid water retention. Ensure that your Hellebore doesn’t dry out, but don’t over water it either. You will then enjoy a floral delight that returns year after year and lasts for decades.
