Hebe 'Pink Fizz' is a bushy, upright, evergreen perennial with small glossy green leaves that start the year bright and darken towards the winter. It will also cover itself in small deep pink flowers from June to August, fading to white as they mature.
This compact perennial will grow to around 60cm in height and spread in approximately 10 years. Beloved by bees, the bubble-gum pink flowers would look ideal among a pink or mauve themed planting scheme. Traditionally Hebes were planted in cottage gardens however they can excel in pots, containers or a contemporary stone or gravel scheme.
It is easy to grow or maintain and will suit a range of well drained soils. However, it is best grown in poor to moderately fertile, neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Aim for a position of full sun or light shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Watch for aphids, fungal leaf spot, root rot and downy mildew. Propagate from semi-ripe cuttings in late summer or autumn.
