Highly versatile, easy to grow and beautiful to admire, Hebe ‘Magic Summer’ offers sensational year-round colour and structure. Well suited to a wide range of garden styles, this shrub has evergreen foliage with a greyish green tinge with young shoots tinged reddish-purple.
With a wonderful contrast of colours to enjoy throughout the seasons, in summer the vibrant foliage is further enhanced by short spires of flowers that form into clusters. These flowers create an impactful display but also attract a host of bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators into your garden. This has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society who have added it to their Plants for Pollinators Collection.
A wonderful addition to the edge of a garden border or along a meandering gravel path, it is also well suited to low maintenance container displays adding colour and structure even when other plants are dormant.
Easy and reliable to grow, simply position your Hebe ‘Magic Summer’ in a sheltered, sunny or partially shaded position in moist but free draining soil. Prune it back in late summer to encourage new growth and deadhead the spent blooms to keep it flowering for longer.
