Gladioli Giant Flowering 'Smokey' (10 Bulbs)

Gladioli Giant Flowering 'Smokey' is one of the most unique and stunning variations of sword-lily with beautiful blooms in pink and ivory white tones. These beautiful large blooms grow in spires above deep-green, sword shaped leaves creating a wonderful contrasting effect that is perfect as a focal point at the back of a summer border or for including in a cut flower display.

We recommend planting in two week intervals throughout March into June to ensure a long flowering succession with an expected time to flower of around 70-90 days.

For the best results, plant in clusters of five or more in a position of full sun with each bulb 10cm deep and 10cm apart. If possible separate groups of bulbs with some flowers saved for cutting throughout the summer and the rest for garden display.

Due to their large blooms and tall stems it may be necessary to stake the stems around 5cm from the base, preventing damage to the bulbs. Gladioli need water during the growing period and mulching with peat or compost to conserve moisture.
