Gladioli 'Byzantinus' grow tall, slender stems, bearing possibly the most graceful and natural of all gladiolus flowers. Delicate in shape yet positively humming with vibrancy these bulbs bloom into deep magenta, funnel-shaped flowers with paler markings on the tepals.
Perfect for bridging the gap between the last of the spring bulbs and the first of the summer perennials, Gladiolus 'Byzantinus' can be planted in herbaceous borders for a lovely cottage-garden look, or dotted among ornamental grasses for a truly elegant and contemporary display. You may also be tempted to snip a few to display indoors so we recommended dual planting with separate groups for garden display and for cutting.
For best results, plant in clusters or drifts of five or more in a position of full sun with each bulb 10cm deep and 10cm apart. If you carefully stagger the planting of your Gladiolus 'Byzantinus' you can enjoy a wonderful floral display that lasts through the summer months.
