An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, Galanthus nivalis 'Flore Pleno' is a beautiful variety of unusual snowdrops that bloom into dainty, double, pure-white, drooping flowers with white petals that are tipped by blotches of green.
These snowdrop bulbs are not only visually captivating but also highly resilient. They thrive in a variety of climates and can withstand frost, making them an excellent choice for both temperate and colder regions. Their early bloom time, typically in late winter or early spring, offers a much-needed burst of colour and life when most other flowers are still dormant.
Planting Galanthus nivalis bulbs is a straightforward and rewarding experience. Simply select a suitable location in your garden, preferably one with partial shade, and prepare the soil by loosening it and removing any debris. Dig a small hole, approximately 2-3 inches deep, and place the bulb with the pointed end facing upward. Cover it gently with soil and water thoroughly.
