Fritillaria persica 'Alba' is a truly charming and uplifting deciduous perennial that will grow a spectacular thick tall stem of light green supporting dozens of elegant pendulous bell like flowers in a matching creamy-green.
Flowering in April and May, this wonderful exotic is perfectly suited for filling out the back or middle of a spring border as a backdrop to other flowering plants, or to be spread amongst other flowers providing a source of colourful height to the border.
For a wilder aesthetic, naturalise in wild gardens, rockeries, under shrubs or in grass, provided the soil remains moist during the growing season. They can also be used as cut flowers for an eye-catching and impressive floral display.
Aim to plant Fritillaria persica 'Alba' bulbs approximately 15cm/6" deep and 25cm/10" apart from each other to allow space for the flowers to bloom. These bulbs are vulnerable to rotting when they sit in wet soil so will need plenty of grit. They are also fully hardy and can be left undisturbed for many years.
