The Fagus sylvatica Purpurea Tree, also known as a Copper Beech, is a beautiful specimen that will change with the seasons to create a wonderful focal point for larger, open spaces.
The young foliage emerges in deep purple-red tones with deep ridges and a wavy edge, covered in delightful silvery soft hairs. This is enhanced by its small purple catkins that appear in April and May. As the leaves mature, they gradually change to a dark green, bronze colour, before transforming into rich autumnal hues that look incredible across this magnificent tree.
A wonderful choice as a single specimen tree or for planting as a group of trees, it will work with a variety of garden styles, adding structure to architectural spaces and attracting birds and pollinators into wildlife gardens.
