Iris Reticulata 'Alida' is a low-growing plant that flowers in late winter and early spring, with light blue blooms with deep blue and yellow markings on the lower petals.
These bulbs should be planted 8cm deep and around 5cm apart, preferably in a position with full sun or partial shade. It will happily grow in containers, at the front of a border, or in a rockery, provided that the soil is well drained to replicate its native mountainous environment.
Complete with a delicate sweet scent, this hardy plant combines well with other early-flowering bulbs such as Snowdrops or Anemones.
