Introduced at the 2025 Chelsea Flower Show, David Austin The King’s Rose™ is a captivating English shrub rose with semi-double fuchsia pink and white flowers. The golden yellow stamens at the centre add the perfect finishing flourish to each bloom, drawing you in to enjoy its light-medium, musk fragrance with hints of red apple and rose water.
This robust and reliable, repeat flowering rose grows a profusion of flowers that turn into small warm orange rose hips in autumn, above heart-shaped, rich green foliage. It also has very few thorns and a vase-shaped growing habit that looks beautiful throughout its flowering season.
David Austin The King’s Rose was bred by David Austin Roses in partnership with The King’s Foundation. Following a conversation with HRH The Prince of Wales at Chelsea Flower Show in the 1990s, David Austin discovered they both grew Ferdinand Pichard (a bi colour rose) as their first rose. Struck by the beauty of this new rose, David Austin felt it captured the values of The King’s Foundation and His Majesty King Charles III lifelong commitment to nature, sustainability and heritage.
