Gertrude Jekyll® (Ausbord) is a medium English shrub rose bred by David Austin®. Always one of the first English roses to start flowering, it has masses of bright pink rosette shaped blooms with a strong old rose fragrance.
A versatile addition to any garden, it looks magnificent in a rose border, can be combined with a range of other plants in mixed borders or planted in a large container to add colour to doorways and entrances.
Created more than 30 years ago by David C H Austin, this classic rose has stood the test of time. Named the “World's Favourite Rose” 2025 by the World Federation of Rose Societies, a distinction awarded through global voting involving 40 countries, it remains a gardeners' favourite. It has also been given the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit for its healthy and reliable growth.
David Austin Gertrude Jekyll® (Ausbord) English Shrub Rose is named after the well known garden designer and author. Gertrude was known for her mixed border designs and was instrumental in the creation of more than four hundred gardens across the world (UK, Europe and America).
