Strikingly beautiful with layers of bi-coloured petals, a pack of 3 Dahlia Pacific Ocean tubers produces dazzling blooms to admire throughout summer until the first frost.
Each petal is packed with colour and has a sunny yellow centre and a vibrant pink edge. Its contrasting colours accentuate the layering of the petals perfectly to create mesmerizing displays to admire.
In addition to its magnificent blooms, this dahlia has a neat and compact growing habit and serrated dark green leaves that frame the beauty of the blooms perfectly. They are also a wonderful way to attract bees and a range of other pollinators into your outdoor space.
Dahlia Pacific Ocean tubers produce flowers that are a versatile addition to any outdoor space. They look incredible planted in pots and containers to admire on seating areas and balconies, or add them to beds and borders around the garden. The wide range of dahlia varieties means you could create a display just with dahlias, but they also pair well with a wide range of plants such as Cosmos or Verbena bonariensis which blend seamlessly.
Easy to grow and reliable, plant the tubers in a sunny position in the garden so that you can enjoy the richest display of colours. Dahlias prefer moist but well-drained soil and ensure the tubers are roughly 15cm deep and 60cm apart when you plant them. After planting, water in well and monitor during the summer months. Aim for one good soak once a week to the base of the plant. Deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers through till first frosts.
Dahlia Pacific Ocean is half hardy, so if your garden is prone to frost or you have heavy soil, it is worth lifting the tubers to store in a shed or greenhouse over winter. If you live in a milder area a layer of mulch should provide enough protection for winter.
