Dahlia Pacific Jewel (3 Tubers)

A pack of 3 Dahlia Pacific Jewel tubers produces blooms with layers of beautiful delicate pink petals that gradually fade to white before turning sunny yellow at the centre. A wonderful variety that is loved for its abundance of blooms that grow on sturdy stems, it rarely needs support and holds its shape well throughout its flowering season.

In addition to its wonderful flowers, it also has beautiful contrasting dark green foliage, that accentuates and frames the soft pink blooms. It is also a wonderful way to attract wildlife into your outdoor space as it is loved by bees and a range of pollinators.

A versatile bloom to admire in a range of positions around the garden, it looks wonderful planted in a pot to elevate the appeal of a seating area or balcony or is beautiful to admire in mixed herbaceous borders combined with purples, pinks and blues for a striking garden display. With its abundance of flowers that grow on study stems, it is an excellent addition to a cut flower display around the home as well.

Easy to grow and reliable, plant it in a sunny position in the garden, in moist but well-drained soil, roughly 15cm deep and 60cm apart. After planting, water in well and monitor during the summer months. Aim for one good soak once a week to the base of the plant. Deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers through till first frosts.

Dahlia Pacific Jewel is half hardy, so if your garden is prone to frost or you have heavy soil, it is worth lifting the tubers to store in a shed or greenhouse over winter. If you live in a milder area a layer of mulch should provide enough protection for winter.
