Dahlia Decorative 'Vancouver' is available as a single tuber and grows an eye-catching, 'stop-you-in-your-tracks' dramatic dahlia with large, fully double heads. It looks perfect together in a large vase or has enough poise to look good as a single stem on its own. These huge and magnificent pink-violet blossoms are adorned with white tips and also look magnificent when planted in groups towards the back of a summer border for a long-lasting garden feature.
We recommend planting Dahlia tubers, such as 'Vancouver', between March and June into fertile, well drained soil 15 cm deep and 60 cm apart. Position in a sunny location for maximum flowering and impact. After planting, water in well and monitor during the Summer months. Aim for one good soak once a week to the base of the plant.
Growing up to 90 cm this variety may need staking for support during the flowering season. Use an all-purpose general plant feed for bigger and brighter blooms. Deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers through till first frosts. Cut back to near ground level in the autumn, before lifting and storing for the winter.
