Flowering in the autumn when most plants have finished flowering, Cyclamen hederifolium is a perennial plant which produces elegant nodding flowers, in shades of rich magenta to white.
Often scented, these flowers appear on strong 10cm stems above their foliage of large, ivy-shaped leaves, in shades of green or silver.
Providing a late source of colour, this variety is durable and consistent with excellent disease and pest resistance, as recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society awarding it their Award of Garden Merit.
Reaching a compact height of around 10cm these bulbs should ideally be planted en masse in front of shrubs, around trees, mixed borders and in rock gardens. They are also great in woodlands or containers and are an excellent almost evergreen groundcover.
They are easily grown in moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soils in part shade at an ideal depth of around 3cm/1" and a spacing of around 15cm/6".
