Crocus speciosus grows beautiful, violet, goblet-shaped flowers with darker veins and a white throat, followed by narrow, mid-green leaves.
Blooming in autumn, this stunning and compact variety will grow up to a height of around 10cm.
This makes them perfect for planting in pots or containers, such as window boxes, or for naturalising in a sunny shrub border among deciduous shrubs.
Plant these Crocus speciosus bulbs at a depth of around 8cm deep, and for the best results, plant them in groups to eventually create a blanket of blooms. They will grow in a wide range of soils provided there is good drainage.
