A spectacular combination of dazzling orange and black, Crocus ‘Orange Monarch’ bulbs produce a tangerine-coloured flower with ornate black detailing along the outside of the petals. The intricacy of this wonderfully patterned petal creates the impression it could have been hand drawn.
In addition to this flowers cheery and bright appearance, these flowers are loved by pollinators and are attractive to wildlife. They are also a member of the Royal Horticultural Society Plants for Pollinators Collection.
These spring flowering bulbs are ideal for planting in borders, window boxes, rockeries and walkways create a magnificent flush of colour. They will also naturalise excellently in a lawn or verge to create orange-coloured drifts.
Plant these ‘Orange Monarch’ bulbs approximately 5cm deep and 5cm apart. Crocuses will grow in a wide range of soils provided there is good drainage. They like sunshine but the flowers will last longer in partial shade.
