Black Persian Lily (Fritillaria Persica) blooms with deep, dark-purple, almost black flowers that grow on tall, elegant silvery-green stems. The bell-shaped flowers grow along most of the top third in a tall, thin cone shape.
These bulbs are perfect for planting in the centre of colourful borders, particularly those with other plants that feature silvery-green foliage. The bulbs will grow well if planted in a gravel garden or a single large pot where stones can mimic free-draining soil in the Middle East where this plant originates from.
Plant these 'Persica' bulbs roughly 12cm deep in fertile soil, and be sure to use slug and snail repellent where necessary when new leaves emerge in spring.
