With gently hanging flowers on delicates stems, the striking apricot and yellow blooms on Begonia ‘Sunray’ creates a sizzling summer display. Sold in packs of four tubers, which grow into a compact perennial that is perfect for planting in containers, hanging baskets and more, adding colour and interest to an array of outside spaces.
In addition to being well suited to smaller spaces, it will also thrive when grown as a bedding plant, with a profusion of flowers that almost completely covers its dark green foliage. The blooms reach up to 8cm in diameter and the layered formation of the flowers is perfectly highlighted by its wonderful blend of yellow and orange hues, with a delicately outlined petal edge. An excellent choice for adding continuous colour, it will grow flowers from the mid-summer though to the first frost.
Low maintenance and easy to grow, simply plant your bulbs in a sunny or partially shaded spot, in moist but free draining soil. Remember to regularly deadhead the spent blooms to encourage new buds to form and lift the bulbs before the first frost. You will then enjoy fabulous flowers year after year.
