Whether its hanging from the roof of a patio, under a shady tree, or tumbling from patio pots and containers, Begonia 'Pendula Red' is sure to delight with its cascading blooms of vibrant red, providing colour in the darker recesses of your garden. These tubers are ideal for a window box or hanging basket, flowering from June through to September with bowed blooms that hang towards the ground, surrounded by dense complementary foliage.
Start the tubers off indoors from late February onwards and plant out in their final spot after the risk of frost has passed. Make sure to use a multipurpose compost in a position of full sun or partial shade.
When planting, position the Begonia tubers just below the compost surface with the hole of the tuber facing up, covering with 3-5cm/1-2" of compost. Space your tubers about 8-10cm/3-4" apart, depending on your pot size, or 20cm/8" apart when planting outside in a garden bed.
