The Amelanchier canadensis ‘October Flame’, also known as the Red Serviceberry Tree, is an excellent choice for smaller spaces. It has a wide range of ornamental features that look beautiful and are attractive to wildlife.
In spring, clusters of white star-shaped flowers cover the branches and have a delightful scent. This is followed by the mid-green foliage that adorns the neat and compact rounded crown. In autumn, the foliage gradually changes to crimson and burn orange hues alongside its purple fruit for a vibrant final flourish before winter.
The compact and neat growth habit of the tree makes it an excellent choice for range of garden spaces, from city and courtyard gardens to larger wildlife gardens. Its light and airy canopy also means it works well with underplanting, to add further interest throughout the seasons.
