The Amelanchier canadensis, or Service Berry Tree, has delicate white flowers that appear as a cluster of star shaped blooms. These are coupled with oval green-bronze foliage to create a striking display.
As the flowers fade the leaves change to their mid-green hues and the delightful purple and red berries adorn the tree. This is followed by a glorious display of crimson and burnt orange foliage in autumn.
In addition to the magnificent displays of flowers and foliage, this tree has a beautiful open shape that makes it a versatile choice that can be used in a wide variety of ways around the garden. Perfect for adding colour and interest to a courtyard garden or city space, it is equally at home in a larger spot filling the middle or back of a beautiful border.
