A striking addition to the summer garden Alstroemeria ‘Red Lion’, also known as a Peruvian Lily, has an abundance of beautiful red and white speckled flowers. Available as a single bulb, they grow into flowers that are perfect for filling pots, as well as gaps in your beds and borders, returning year after year with a wonderful display.
An upright and clump-forming perennial, the funnel shaped flowers have a striking contrast of bright red petals with a flush of creamy white through the centre and dark brown streaks. The unique formation of the petals gives the flowers movement as they grow in open clusters above dark-green lance-shaped foliage.
With a wonderful pallet of colours to choose from, these Alstroemeria’s will look wonderful planted alongside a host of plants. From roses, salvia and dahlia to a range of ornamental grasses, the contrast of colours and texture makes a low maintenance but dazzling summer display.
