A Dahlia Cactus Friquolet bulb produces blooms that radiate with colour along its spike-like rounded petals. Simmering hots reds tapper to gleaming white tips that look like a dazzling firework in garden displays.

Growing on sturdy upright stems, the unusual silhouette of these dahlias means that the petals curve round and radiate from the centre. This not only creates an exquisite display to admire but has the added benefit of allowing rain to run off its petals, so they hold their wonderful shape for longer.

Perfect for growing in a range of spots around the garden, including in beds and borders, or pots and containers. You can’t beat the appeal of a big flower bed bursting with dahlias, but they also look wonderful grown with a wide range of other plants including Salvias or Geraniums, or classic blooms such as roses and peonies for a timeless display.

To get the best floral display, plant your dahlia in a sunny location in moist but well drained soil. After planting, water in well and monitor during the summer months. Aim for one good soak once a week to the base of the plant. Deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers through to the first frost.
