Why plant spring bulbs?
Spring bulbs are one of the easiest ways to create a garden full of colour after the long winter months. Planted in autumn, they quietly establish roots over winter before bursting into life just when your garden needs it most.
They’re wonderfully easy to grow, fantastic value, and many varieties will reward you with flowers year after year. Better still, early flowering bulbs provide an important source of nectar for bees and other pollinators emerging in spring.
The perfect time to plant
Most spring-flowering bulbs should be planted between September and November, while the soil is still warm enough for roots to establish before winter. Plant them this autumn and you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful succession of flowers from late winter right through to spring.
