Established in 1948 by Fred and Ivy Gates, Gates Garden Centre in Oakham began within the walled Victorian kitchen garden of Cold Overton Hall, on the Rutland–Leicestershire border.

Still on the same site today, Gates Oakham has grown into one of the largest destination garden centres in the UK, featuring an award-winning Farm Shop, two restaurants, expansive plant areas and inspiring retail spaces. Despite its growth, the centre continues to uphold the family values it was built on — exceptional customer service and great value for money.

In our walled garden, the Courtyard Coffee Shop is for more cosy, casual dining and serves breakfast, lunch, and drinks. Why not relax on a sofa.
