Best for planting in the cool soil of October and November as it reduces the risk of pests interfering with the bulbs. This flower is a great naturaliser if left alone once planted, so it may be best planted where the bulbs can have some extra space.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlant 'Ancilla' bulbs with the pointed end up around 10cm\/4\" deep and 10cm4\" apart, unless they are planted in containers, in practically any soil, be it acid, alkaline or neutral.
