Westland Water Saving Gel (250g)

A 250g pack of Westland Water Saving Gel is great for ensuring your plants don’t dry out during hot weather. Use it in pots, containers, hanging baskets, with houseplants, in grow bags, vegetable plots and flower beds.

This advance water retaining gel holds up to 400 times its own weight in water and will slowly release water back into the compost when the plant needs it. The highly effective gel holds up to 1-litre of water per pot and is great for using when the weather is hot or when going away on holiday. The gel is quick and easy to apply and comes with a free measuring scoop for accurate application.

To use, simply measure out the number of scoops required and mix thoroughly with compost, filling three quarters of the pot or container. Fill the remainder of the pot with compost and water in well, twice, with a gap of a few hours to allow the gel to fully charge.

For use in pre-planted pots and hanging baskets, make several holes in the surface of the compost and fill the holes with gel, using the required amount. Water in well twice, again leaving a gap of a few hours to charge the gel.

Application rate

• Pots, containers, baskets, houseplants: 15-25cm (6-10in) half scoop | 30-40cm (12-16in) 1 scoop | 45-60cm (18-24in) 2 scoops
• Window boxes: Per 30cm (12in) in length, 1 scoop
• Compost: per litre, apply 1 and a quarter scoop
• Growbags: per plant, 1 scoop
• Vegetable plots or flowerbeds: per square metre, 20 scoops
