Tulipa ‘Libretto Parrot’ is an exotic double flowering parrot tulip that will grow larger than average flowers with highly ruffled edges. These flowers consist of creamy-white petals with a hint of pinky-green, gradually turning more heavily pink as they mature.

Parrot tulip such as ‘Libretto’ are whimsically-shaped tulips with serrated or fringed petals. Emerging as green buds, they will eventually open into mature unusually-coloured flowers, resembling the plumage of a parrot.

These ‘Libretto Parrot’ bulbs will bloom for several weeks in late spring, with lance-shaped grey-green leaves, reaching an eventual full height of around 40cm/16″.

These hardy spring bulbs are perfect for planting in small groups in borders or containers adding a little taste of paradise, preferably protected from strong winds. They are also excellent as cut flowers earning themselves a place in the cut flower garden.

‘Libretto Parrot’ tulip bulbs can grow in almost any soil, be it acid, alkaline or neutral, provided there is satisfactory drainage. Look for an area of full sun, in a place where tulips have not been grown in recent years. Plant the bulbs approximately 10cm/4″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.
