Tulipa ‘Cape Cod’ is a compact naturalising perennial with glowing apricot petals that are edged with a thin blended yellow border, creating large flowers that stretch up to 10cm/4″ wide when fully opened in bloom.

‘Cape Cod’ bulbs will bloom for several weeks in March and April, growing to a height of around 20cm/8″, with broadly lance-shaped greyish-green leaves streaked with purple.

These durable and hardy spring flowering bulbs will flower for several years in small groups in borders or containers, providing a source of fiery early spring colour. They are also excellent as cut flowers, granting themselves a spot in the cut flower garden.

‘Cape Cod’ tulip bulbs can grow in practically any soil, be it acid, alkaline or neutral, so long as there is sufficient drainage. They will prefer a position of full sun, in a place where tulips have not been grown in recent years, preferably protected from strong winds. Plant the bulbs approximately 10cm/4″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.

Remove flowers when they begin to fade and support with a top dressing of slow acting fertiliser like bone-meal after planting to assist the flowering.
