Tulip ‘National Velvet’ (7 Bulbs)

A pack of 7 ‘National Velvet’ tulip bulbs produces magnificent deep red tulips, tinted with an opulent purple hue. With tall and elegant stems, these flowers are perfect for creating an eye-catching display or as underplanting for taller blooms, such as roses.

Making their appearance from April, these flowers provide a wonderful flush of colour from mid to late spring and will grow to a height of approximately 50cm.

For the best visual impact, plant these tulips in groups of at least 10-15 among other spring flowering bulbs. This versatile flower looks fantastic when planted in beds, borders and containers, and will excel as cut flower to enjoy around the home.

‘National Velvet’ tulips will grow in a wide range of different soils, provided there is good drainage, preferably in a position of full sun. Plant the bulbs at a depth of 15cm/6″ and a spread of 10cm/4″.
