Thompson & Morgan Herb Parsley Champion Seeds

A favourite for garnishing, boasting tightly curled, rich green leaves of exceptional quality. Makes a fine windowsill pot plant or low hedging plant for the herb garden. Perfect for garnishing, soups, stews and salads. Biennial, usually grown as a Hardy Annual.

How to sow

Sow direct outdoors, or indoors in pots on the windowsill. Outdoors – prepare the soil by raking until it is fine and crumbly, removing any large stones. Indoors – fill a pot or pots with free-draining compost. Outdoor – sow seed 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Parsley seeds can be slow to germinate taking up to 28 days especially in cold, wet soils. Indoors – sow in 7cm (3.5in) pots of free-draining compost. Keep at 18-20C (64-68F) until after germination.

How to grow

When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 23cm (9in) apart. If growing indoors, gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions before planting out after all risk of frost, or pot on for windowsill growing. Harvest regularly to encourage fresh new growth.
