The Sorbus aucuparia ‘Sheerwater Seedling’ Tree, is a wonderful variety of Rowan that is perfect for creating interest in smaller spaces. With its compact oval crown and upright growth, this tree won’t overpower a space.

With its fluffy white clusters of delicate flowers that sparkle as they contrast against the dark green pinnate leaves, this tree adds some fanfare to the spring season.  It will also be welcomed by a range of wildlife and is loved by bees and other pollinators.

As the blossoms fade the leaves slowly change to a deeper green hue, before transforming into a magnificent autumnal display of fiery crimson and burnt orange shades. This is complemented by the vibrancy of the berries, that form into masses of tight clusters.

In addition to its stunning ornamental qualities, this tree has received the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit for its reliable and healthy growth. It is also a member of the Royal Horticultural Society Plants for Pollinators Collection.

This low maintenance tree will grow in almost any soil type. Plant it in a bright and sunny, or partially shaded, spot in moist, well-drained soil and you will be rewarded with years of stunning, colourful displays.
