Delightful clusters of pendant-shaped white flowers with green tips adorn the quietly beautiful, Polygonatum Multiflorum. Also known as ‘Solomon’s Seal’, it is available as a single tuber that grows elegant arching stems more than a metre in length, carrying small clusters of white and green flowers.
Growing beneath the stems and flowers is attractive green ovate-shaped foliage. Once the hanging flowers have faded they turn into small black ornamental fruit, adding to its appeal throughout the seasons.
Well suited to growing in a large pot or container, it has an understated elegance and slow charm, that forces you to take a closer look making it a wonderful addition to patio and balcony areas. It is also loved by bees and other pollinators, so is a great addition to more relaxed planting schemes such as wildlife gardens.
