Photinia × fraseri ‘Red Robin’ is an evergreen hardy shrub with dense green foliage. This medium-sized shrub has an erect habit and has glossy, elliptic leaves. Young shoots are red and white flowers sparsely appear in spring.
‘Red Robin’ was a breakthrough variety of Photinia when it was introduced in the 1950s. Known for its easy care, colourful foliage and hardiness, this genus of trees and shrubs have now become a household name and popular garden choice.
Plant your ‘Red Robin’ in full sun or partial shade and in any well drained, fertile soil. Photinia make ideal structural plants in your garden. Add them to the back of a border, bed or use them to screen and add privacy. They also do well in large pots and containers on the patio.
