The ‘Peter’s Persica’ Climbing Rose is an exceptional patio climber with a mass of golden yellow, semi-double flowers with a striking orange eye at its centre. Perfect for creating an eye-catching and long-lasting display of colour, with flowers up to 10cm in diameter, it will reliably repeat flower through to the first frost.
It has a neat and compact growing habit that makes it a great choice for small spaces, with its mass of dazzling roses are perfect for creating memorable garden displays. Plant it along walls, up fences, through pergolas or along small arches, this rose will create a strikingly beautiful garden feature to admire, turning the mundane into the magnificent.
In addition to its wonderful floral display, this rose has glossy green foliage that perfectly accentuates the vibrancy of the blooms. It is also known for its robust and healthy growth, with good disease resistance. Unsurprisingly its combination of beautiful blooms and healthy growth earned it Gardeners’ World Plant of the Year 2023 and the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society, so you have peace of mind that you will be enjoying the wonderful rose for many years to come.
To make the most of the ‘Peter’s Persica’ rose and ensure you get the best floral display, plant it in a position of full sun, in moist but well drained soil. Before planting, add some soil improver or well-rotted manure to improve the condition of the soil, and add a sprinkling of Mycorrhizal Fungi to support strong root development. To extend the floral display, deadhead any spent blooms regularly throughout its flowering season to encourage new buds to form.
This rose was named as a tribute to the late British Broadcaster, Peter Seabrook MBE.
