Peony ‘Princess Margaret’

The Peony ‘Princess Margaret’ produces enormous double blooms of a luscious, bright rose-pink colour.

These large fragrant flowers appear early on from late spring to early summer, atop 20-30 inch stems. Although these stems are strong, it’s best to provide some sort of support or staking due to the large, heavy blooms. They grow thick and bushy dark-green foliage that can grow up to 60cm tall and 50cm wide.

Grown in-house at Gates Garden Centre, ‘Princess Margaret’ Paeonies shine and stand out when planted as a specimen or feature plant in borders and beds. They can be used in city or informal cottage gardens and also make for excellent cut flowers with a vase life of over a week.

Plant in a position of sun or partial shade, away from trees or shrubs as peonies don’t like to compete for food and moisture. Plant in humus rich soil and water in well.

These peonies look beautiful when combined with roses, bearded irises or other peonies such as the ‘Candy Stripe’ or ‘Julia Rose’.
