Ornithogalum nutans, also known as the ‘Drooping Star of Bethlehem’, is a striking and stunning perennial that will grow one-sided racemes of up to 15 fragrant, nodding, bell-shaped white flowers. These flowers consist of 6 reflexed white petals, adorned with a streak of green on the outside.

A recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit, this variety is hardy and dependable with excellent disease and pest resistance.

Expect each bulb to grow to a height of around 20cm/8″, flowering throughout April.

An excellent naturaliser, these bulbs are great for beds or borders, wildflower meadows, underplanting roses and shrubs, rock gardens or cottage gardens.

They will thrive in moderately fertile, moist and well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Plant bulbs 5cm/2″ deep and 10cm/4″ apart.
