Muscari latifolium is a gorgeous species of bulbous perennial that displays two types of flowers. At the top of the stem are sterile, light blue flowers, growing above a clump of fertile, dark purple-black flowers. This creates a stunning colour combination for a striking and distinct effect, blooming in March and April.

UK Bulb of the year in 2006 and recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit in 2003, this variety is fully hardy and reliable with excellent pest and disease resistance.

Exuding a lovely fragrance these bulbs are a brilliant addition to beds or borders, containers, rock gardens, around shrubs or under deciduous trees. They will provide a spectacular drift of colour when planted en masse and offer the best visual impact when planted in groups.

Muscari are tolerant of any well drained soil in full sun or partial shade and should be planted around 5cm deep and 10cm apart.
