The wonderful Malus ‘Golden Hornet’ is a delightful variety of crab apple tree. It has clusters of canary yellow fruit that last into winter to provide colour and interest through the colder months.

With a range of ornamental interest that changes with the seasons, it begins with a host of small bright pink flower buds that then emerge as a mix of white and light pink blooms in spring. As the flowers fade, the mid-green ovate foliage acts as the perfect contrast to the canary yellow fruits that adorn the tree through autumn and winter.

The combination of masses of flowers and fruits are a wonderful source of food for pollinators, birds and wildlife throughout the seasons. This has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society who have included this tree in their Plants for Pollinators Collection.

This Crab Apple Tree also has a beautiful silhouette, with a rounded crown and upward growing branches. It forms a pretty and structural shape that is perfect for a range of garden styles. From architectural gardens to cottage gardens, this Golden Hornet tree will enhance a variety of spaces.

In addition to looking beautiful, this tree is easy to grow and is hardy, making it well suited to the UK climate. Simply plant this tree in full sun or partial shade, in moist well-drained soil, and you will be rewarded with years of wonderful colour and interest in your garden.
