Lily of the Valley (Convallaria Majalis) blooms with diminutive crystal-white flowers, growing off dark green stalks with long dark green foliage.
Traditionally seen in spring wedding bouquets, these plants flourish in moist soil and full or dappled shade making these bulbs ideal for planting in areas of woodland or shady borders. Make sure to put them somewhere noticeable, as after the flowers have died back little red berries will grow. These are also perfect for use as a cut flower.
The scent of the Lily of the Valley was made famous by French company Dior, after Christian Dior found it was his favourite flower and commissioned a fragrance, Diorissimo, that simulated the same scent as the flower.
Be aware that this plant can be toxic to domestic animals, such as cats and dogs.
