Lilium ‘Oriental Double Polar Star’ Bulbs

Lilium ‘Oriental Double Polar Star’ is a highly and sweetly scented double oriental lily that is perfect among a summer border or container.

This elegantly formed white lily is the perfect cut flower for weddings and bridal bouquets as it is pollen free and long lasting.

They prefer a rich, moist soil on the acidic/ericaceous  side, with similar needs to rhododendrons. We recommend planting lilies such as the ‘Oriental Double Polar Star’ somewhere between March and June. Ideally the bulbs should be planted in a position of sun or partial shade, protected from strong winds, but avoiding dry, hot locations such as along a south facing wall.

Try to plant the bulbs approximately 15cm deep and 30cm apart as they can reach up to 90cm tall and 40cm wide when fully grown. Due to this height some plants may need to be staked in order to prevent stooping over. When using these lilies in a pot, aim to plant 3 bulbs per each 10-14″ ‘patio type’ pot using a high quality multi purpose compost such as John Innes No.3.

Oriental lilies will usually flower around July to August.
