Hyacinthus orientalis ‘Peter Stuyvesant’ is a bedding bulb that will produce a dense cylindrical cluster of scented, waxy, bell-shaped deep violet-blue flowers on a bronze-tinted stem.

Growing to a height of around 25cm/10″, these ‘Peter Stuyvesant’ bulbs will flower early in the spring for a bright and bold display that will grow over time as they naturalise.

These bulbs are perfect for planting in containers or pots such as window boxes. They can also be used at the front of an early spring flowering bed or border. They particularly excel when planted in clusters among other strongly coloured hyacinths such as ‘Carnegie’, ‘Gipsy Queen’ or ‘Delft Blue’. Hyacinth can also be used as long lasting cut flowers that will fill an entire room with their sweet fragrance.

Hyacinth tend to prefer a moist but well drained, acidic, alkaline or neutral soil, in a position of full sun or partial shade. The bulbs should be planted 15cm/6″ deep and 15cm/6″ apart.
